The first National PovertyAlleviation Commendation Conference was held in Beijing in the morning of October16th, 2016, president Xi Jinping made significant comments on national povertyalleviation commendation conference, premier Li Keqiang made written instructions,and vice-premier Wang Yang attended the conference and delivered speech. Withthe approval of " establishing national poverty alleviation by the statecouncil, honor system to commend groups and individuals who made outstandingcontributions to poverty alleviation" stipulated in the Decision of the CPC Central Committee andthe State Council on winning the fight against poverty, the povertyalleviation and development leading group of the State Council decided toorganize national poverty alleviation commendation conference once every yearduring the "thirteenth five year" poverty alleviation period. Theconference this time commended 38 individuals who have made outstandingcontributions to poverty alleviation from all walks of life, including 10 individualsawarded with advance honor, 10 individual awarded with contribution honor, 9individuals awarded with merit honor and 9 individuals awarded with innovationhonor. Chairman of China Oceanwide Holdings Group ,Lu Zhiqiang was awarded withthe honor of “National Advanced Individual for Poverty Alleviation with Merit” 

　　General Secretary of theCommunist Party of China Central Committee, President of China, Chairman of theMilitary Central Commission Xi Jinping made significant comments on nationalpoverty alleviation commendation conference, it is of great significance toestablish the national poverty alleviation honor award to commend those groupsand individuals who have made outstanding contributions to poverty alleviation,and to set up typical examples of advanced poverty alleviation for themobilization of the joint efforts of the whole party and the whole society towin the battle against poverty. Xi Jinping expressed his warm congratulationsto those who have been firstly awarded with national poverty alleviation honorand from national poverty alleviation systems. He emphasized that the full alleviationof people in rural area is a milestone indicator to build a moderately prosperoussociety in an all around way and to realize the first one hundred year target.To accomplish this target, it is required that the cardres and people in thepoverty area fight with arduous efforts, the poverty alleviation bodies organizeand promote this endeavor, the sectors of the society sincerely help and assist,and it is also necessary to reform and innovate mechanism and ways of povertyalleviation. We have to vigorously and widely publicize the typical examples ofpoverty alleviation to encourage the whole party and the whole society to takefurther actions, motivate the cardres and the people from the poverty strickenareas to take further actions, to formulate a joint and combined mighty forcefor poverty alleviation and development. We all should have the same mindset towork with the utmost arduous efforts and to implement the targeted povertyalleviation measures and strive for new victory in the fight against poverty.

It is important to establish further sound organization and mobilizationmechanism and social participation platform and complete the policy support systems,and strive to formulate the atmosphere of everybody would rather to commit andeverybody may commit and everybody can commit for the victory against poverty.
